Copyright and takedown
This is a personal blog with no accounts, uploads or user submissions. Most articles are written by the owner; some older posts are translations or reposts of other people's work, with the source and rights holder noted above the text. If you believe something here infringes your rights, this page explains what you can do and how the site will respond. The Chinese version at /dmca/ is the original.
What kind of site this is
- A personal site: there are currently no ads, no paid content and no checkout. The owner practises monetizing indie sites elsewhere, and this site may later offer products, services or consulting, clearly labelled. The handling described on this page does not change because of that.
- No user-generated content: no comments, submissions, forums or uploads, so third parties cannot publish anything here.
- Mixed sources: 14 posts are translations of other people's articles and 2 are reposts or compilations. Those pages are not signed by the owner, and the rights belong to the original authors.
- Quotation and paraphrase: some posts were written more than a decade ago and quote, excerpt or paraphrase talks, books and articles by others. Such quotations may be incomplete or out of date.
No US DMCA agent is registered
Claiming the safe harbour under section 512 of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires registering a designated agent with the Copyright Office. This is a personal blog and has not made that registration and does not claim that safe harbour. This page is not a legal undertaking; it describes how the site actually handles copyright concerns.
If you believe content infringes, please include
To handle a notice accurately, please include as much of the following as you can (these follow the elements of 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)):
- the title or description of the work you say is infringed, and where it can be found;
- the exact URL of the allegedly infringing content on this site (for example
https://hugozen.com/posts/…/); - your name and contact details (the site currently has no public mailbox; see "Delivery" below);
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised and not covered by an exception such as fair use;
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you make it under penalty of perjury;
- your signature (an electronic signature is fine).
What the site will do
On receiving a notice that names specific URLs, the owner will check each item: whether a quotation goes beyond fair use, whether attribution and source are accurate, and whether the content is out of date or harms the people involved. After verification the content will be removed, rewritten, or given a proper source and link within a reasonable time, and the outcome recorded.
The site has already acted this way: on 31 October 2026 the owner voluntarily took down 26 posts that involved other people, for privacy reasons, and removed tracking parameters that pointed to the original publishing platform from the posts that remain. A few more older posts are no longer shown because of copyright risk. None of these appear in any list, tag page, RSS feed or sitemap.
If a takedown was a mistake (counter-notice)
If you are the author or rights holder of a post that was taken down and you think it was wrong, explain why and on what basis; the owner will re-check, and content confirmed to be fine can be restored.
Delivery
This site currently has no public contact address: there are no accounts, forms or subscriptions, and the mailbox for the domain has not been published. The owner has chosen not to publish a contact address, so this page can only explain how the site handles data and cannot promise a reply. To follow new posts, subscribe to the RSS feed.
